So yeah you're right complaceny, will kill you.
Nope, complacency would have been if we knew that an evil tyrant was consistently slaughtering his own people (which we did know), was working with the very enemy that had killed 3000 of our innocent people (which we knew, from Iraqi defectors, and was amassing chemical weapons to use against the US and its allies (which, again, we knew from Iraqi defectors), yet still did nothing to stop him. That would have been complacency, and that's not the road we took. Complacency and appeasement on all sides allowed Hitler to slaughter millions. Our president wanted us to get involved in that war much earlier than Pearl Harbor. Think how many lives could have been saved had he gotten his wishes.

While our nation is vulernable please dont endanger our nation's security by demanding your First Amendment Rights..

Dave, there is absolutely no excuse for this. You will not suspend the Constitution of the United States in the name of fighting for the "freedom" of another country.

Remember, just because you are in the majority now, doesn't mean that someday you won't be expressing a minority position. And then, the rights you so easily took away from me, will just as easily be taken away from you. But, unlike you, I'll be defending your right to speak out your disagreement.

I agree with this....however one thing.

Freedom of Speech does not = Civil Disobedience.

I really wish the Civil Disobedience would stop so that money, needed for other things like the War on Terror (Recognising that you do not believe there is a War on Terror) would be used for what it was for.

Thank you....

Martha-
When our country is under siege we have to.
It has nothing to do w/public opinion.
Respectfully-

No, we don't.

If we do, there's nothing left for any soldiers to fight for. If we do, then we are no better than the "dictators" we hope to defeat. If we do, then you'd better hope that you and those who think like you stay in charge.

We are not "under siege." You have bought into the fear, and so you believe that you need to give up your freedoms. I won't give mine up, no matter what the cost.

And Matt, did I say anything about breaking the law? I'm talking about the right to disagree and say it out loud, like most of the protesters are doing.

Do you have something to contribute to the substance of my comment on Civil Disobedience?

If you want to debate Guantanimo start a thread and I will jump in with my tears for the people we are holding there, who, by the way, are being treated better than they deserve.

Back to the thread.

Have you been there? How do you know? How many did they let go after months of imprisonment? Im flabbergasted that you support this. After all we didn't invade some other country.

This is sarcasm that most have lost here. However, I do feel we have turned into something ugly.

Nope, I was not saying that you did, I was attempting to clarify where I stood.

Peace

Martha
