When I talk about my future, I'm talking about my life... If your future is short then your life is short

When we're talking healthcare, we're talking about real lives.

If you feel this way then why are you opposed to insurance companies being able to deny coverage for pre-existing conditions?

They are just trying to watch their bottom line and make $ for their shareholders; is this not the primary obligation of a corporation?

Alright, I see what you're saying. But if someones 'future' is threatened by something else like a job loss or a foreclosure, should the government be required to step in then as well?

Regulations are still a neccesity.

Now we're equating life to a mortgage? This is exactly why so many conservatives come off as ill equipped when it comes to healthcare.

I'm using the word 'future' again in a general sense.

I usally do not like to make postings in here about our own personal experieces, that often leads to personal attacks.

Last year I paid (out of my personal checking account) Blue Cross $6720.

This year they want to raise my premium to $9340.

I have the high deductable HSA (Heath Savings Account) coverqge.

And I pay 100% of the first $3500. anf then 20% until I pay $5000 annually.

Blue Cross has been in the news lately about this big bump in premiums. There really is no where else I can go and shop for coverage.

I have been self-employed all of my adult life. When I was in my 20s, 30s and 40s I did not have Health Ins. If I applied, I would be turned down for pre-existing conditions.

Just recently, Jan 2009 Blue Cross did offer an open enrollment through my trade association. In the 14 months I have been buying insurance they have raised my premiums twice.

Blue Cross CA enjoys record profits. They take money out of their CA Company and transfer it to their parent company Well Point, so the CA operation does not show excessive profits.

That's the American Way!

Seriously, there are millions in Deep's boat. There are many in the country who have good health (and corresponding good health care) who don't give a shit. You mention health care change to them, no go.

Using Democrat's own words against them will only further agitate them.

YouTube - Paul Ryan: Hiding Spending Doesn't Reduce Spending

10 years of taxes, 10 years of Medicare cuts, for 6 years of health benefits...

Obamacare is completely unsustainable.

Or is Rep. Ryan lying?

Ryan, like you and INDY doesn't understand... You all willfully ignore and sweep things under the rug when it doesn't fit your platform.

And here in lies the problem. The Republicans NEVER talk in detail about any part of health care reform. They make broad, sweeping statements about:

- Capitalism
- Conservatism
- Socialism
- Mandates
- Buzzword

and never actually talk about anything involved. When Obama has had direct conversations with them, he made them all look like complete morons. And no one talked about it. All the news organizations go, "Well, that produced nothing" and went on with their day. The story should be huge! The president just displayed that 41% of your Senate knows jackshit about the most important issue in America right now!

But they won't. They're afraid Fox News will call them biased if they report anything positive about this administration.
