I hope all goes well for you Dreadsox. I admire your dedication to your students.
Our school system went through some very hard times a few years ago. It is funded almost completely by property taxes and I live in a rural community so there is little industry or business base.

Here in Alabama people are going to have to pay for their kids to ride schoolbuses! At least that's a proposal being made to make up for a lack of revenue for our schools. Last week a tax increase package failed, and it's going to be murder on our schools. Whole counties don't have textbooks. You've got to be dedicated as heck to teach around here.

The children in town are already being charged transportation.
That is tapped out already. The problem is that the town miscalculated the amount of state aid they were receiving. The budget has shortfall of over 5 million.

Phys Ed, Art, Music and all Athletics and Bands, AP Courses, are being eliminated.
