I dunno, I have a feeling this country would sooner elect a black man to presidency than they would elect a woman.

Rice has said again and again she isn't running. Hopefully she'll stick to it. But that would be a fascinating ticket.

Actually, I'm not cool enough to be vegan, I'm just a mere vegetarian.

Irvine, LOVE the whole paycheck idea! I'm gonna use that from now on.

Porque!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hehe it's cool. Although at my brothers winter concert this past sunday. There was this quote unquote semi-political figure who is a vegitarian. And he was making such a fuss about how could people be eating chicken that was being served and how he should sue my brothers choir for animal cruelty??

giving vegiterians a bad name.

Actually, I do it more for the people than the animals. I don't like to treat animals like crap. But I'm veggie b/c I don't support the meat packing industry. Its scary!

I like Kucinich, but I don't think he stands a snowball's chance in hell of getting the nomination. I think Obama does, therefore I'm supporting him if he runs.

Since you love polls, I thought you might find this one interesting:

Voters favor McCain over Clinton in '08

"Given a choice between McCain and Clinton, half of those surveyed said they would vote for the Arizona Republican, compared with 36% for the former first lady."

"Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.), a charismatic African American who has gotten enormous attention since he began publicly musing about a presidential bid, remains obscure enough that 40% of the Democrats surveyed said they did not know enough about him to have an opinion on him."

http://www.latimes.com/news/politics...home-headlines

If such polls are at all accurate, it suggest that Hillary has a significant amount of ground to make up, and people should start asking some serious questions about Obama.

If the Democrats want to be competitive against McCain, they need to get General Clark on the ticket, and preferably a democratic governor from the south.

My gubernatorial candidate had the same problem. When he started running, nobody had heard of him, but friends encouraged him to run anyway because of his vision and leadership potential. He campaigned through the grassroots and made a name for himself. Even at the beginning of the summer a similar number of democrats were saying "who?" But we canvassed and went to townhall meetings. Eventually, behind the other, better funded candidates, we got on the air. And by primary day we not only had recognition but over 50% of the vote in a 3-way race. Then we won the election by 50% as well.

That was Deval Patrick, close law school buddy of Obama, who encouraged him to run even when he was obscure. So don't think that poll will make Obama back down.

Yes, the country is a helluva lot bigger than Mass but there's a lot more volunteers out there too. It can work if Obama does it right.
