Well - many leaders on both sides of the political fence saw Iraq as a real threat because of WMD. You can't just blame the CIA under Bush because much of the intelligence was gathered in the 90's under Clinton.

The discussion seemed to be veering into "Bush loves war for the sake of war" territory and I just wanted to point out that he was not alone in the decision to go to war.

I think that even John Kerry would have invaded Iraq based on the same intelligence Bush had (at least he claims he would have), and also based on that same intelligence – Kerry would not have been able to predict the insurgency.
