A question about salaries and costs:
For example (and a rather poor one at that), a chocolate bar here (Canada) costs $1.00 (Cdn). In the UK, the same bar costs 1.00 pound sterling. That's approx $2.23 Cdn dollars. Rather expensive. Is it expensive in England?
What I'm wondering is if this is all relative. So, if I had a job as a teacher here in Canada and made $60,000.00 a year, that's Cdn dollars when converted to British pounds. So, would the same teacher in England make 26,000 pounds (i.e. $60,000 Cdn converted to pounds) or 60,000 pounds (which would be relative. Thus, to thie British person making 60,000 pounds, the chocolate bar is cheap)?
