Is Dick Cheney a Terrorist?

Quote:
Vice President Dick Cheney warned on Tuesday that the country would be at risk of a terror attack if it made "the wrong choice"
So what's the message:
A direct terror-threat from Dick Cheney to the American people?
Do what i tell you to to or i'll bring terror?

That's pathetic, even for Dick

Is that the pledge following Bush's promise to find ways to attack America?

Its good to see that the current administration can hold the line on any policy ideas dreamed up with a Bushism

Kerry's running mate, Sen. John Edwards of North Carolina, responded by calling Cheney's comments "un-American."
I was hoping the debate would've gone beyond this un-american crap by now.

Quote:
Edwards told reporters that "Dick Cheney's scare tactics crossed the line."
I agree with Edwards on this.

Isn't it funny how the infamous "spokesmen and -women" always have to run in and save the day? You'd think people would elect politicians who themselves can make clear in a couple of sentences what their viewpoints are. I guess that's what you get when living in the soundbyte century.

Using fear to suade the American public and the announcement that major force will not be applied to certain rebel areas until after the election brings up questions of how this administration is abusing this war for their gain. I think both sides are using the war, obviously. But telling the American public they risk attack if they don't choose the "right" side is unforgivable.

Maybe it's time that the American public spoke to Cheney in a language he can understand, and tell him to go F##k himself come November.

The sad thing is that over at DU and Daily Kos people are having a meltdown over this because they honestly believe that "Bushhitler" will stage an attack just to suspend the consitution and intitate Marshal Law. It's just one more piece of the puzzle in their deranged picture.

I don't think its wrong to emphasis the fact that the Bush administration would be better than the Kerry administration in combating terrorism. The Bush administration currently has a 27% lead over Kerry in terms of who would handle the terrorist threat the best.

That's more a matter of opinion than a fact. In any case, you'd expect any self-respecting diplomate wouldn't stoop down to the level where he scares people into voting for his party.

Fact? It's funny what's passing as fact these days. Starts to put the everything else surrounding this election in perspective.

So now the polls determine terrorist attacks...

There's a lead because people believe these scare tactics. They came out after the Democratic convention to scare us with the idea that terrorists are going to attack the election. We've known this since the Madrid bombings in March. Tom Ridge comes out and says the New York Stock Exchange and Financial District are targets and raised the terror alert level for them to orange. Where has he been? NYC has been at an orange alert level since they instituted that dumb system. And can any of you say you're surprised the NYSE was a terror target? Isaw all the cops and National Guard there before that alert. Nothing has changed. But of course, that won't win votes the way scare tactics will.

cheney said that electing kerry would bring america back to a time where we treated terroists as simply criminals, going after them with judges and lawyers rather than guns and bombs, and that that would put america at a greater risk of attack.

i for one happen to agree with him.

Headache, even though I disagree with you, you said it better than Cheney did. Why is it so difficult for people like Bush, Cheney and Schwarzenegger (I bet there a democrats who do this too) to formulate their opinion without having a spokesperson to explain what they meant later? Why is the electorate taking this soundbyte crap from their politicians?

Dick Cheney is a dangerous man.

He has been a notoriously shady businessman for many years (remember his ties to Halliburton?) and has attempted to live above the law of the land while VP.

Do some research on Dick Cheney and you will discover what a POTENTIAL THREAT to peace and democracy in the world and to the future of the USA HE IS!

I wish you all well.

The electorate does not have the attention span to study a candidates position on issues. Instead, the media feeds us soundbites, especially the ones that can be taken out of context or can be deemed inflamatory.
