We opened our Christmas presents a day early in my family since my brother and sister-in-law live halfway across the county. My dad gave me Jean Sasson's new book "Mayada, Daughter of Iraq". This book was published in October by Dutton, part of the Penguin Group. I started reading it, oh, maybe four hours ago. I haven't been able to put it down. I recommend it for anyone who wants an insider's look at Saddam's Iraq. It's graphic with tales of torture and such. Horrors! This is the same woman who wrote the "Princess Trilogy" about Sultana in Saudi Arabia. I read those three books in four days. Riveting stuff.
