Apparently all that you do NOT know can be divided into the following domains.

'known unknowns' - the things you know you don't know
'unknown unknowns' - all the things you don't know you don't know
'errors' - all the things you think you know but don't
'unknown knowns' - all the things you don't know you know
'taboo' - dangerous, polluting or forbidden knowledge
'denial' - all the things too painful to know, so don't

Makes you... think... huh...

Actually, the concept of known unknowns and unknown unknowns is important for every individual. It opens the door to teachability.

Go ahead and laugh just because Donald Rumsfeld's name came up. Personally, I thought this post was interesting.

My mind just bogled.
Anyway, it's interesting that you can separate ignorance into those areas. I personally find 'denial' pretty intriguing, I know some people that make it their lifes work.:hmm: . I probably have some of it. hehe
