This is a song by latinamerican singer/songwriter Ricardo Arjona called "Si el Norte fuera el Sur" (If North were South). I'd like to know what you think of these lyrics. It talks about the differences in culture and details of the US.

It's very easy to point out what's wrong, it's a lot tougher to swallow pride and point out the good.

"If the North was the South
it would be the same crap"

Sure would.

It's true that it's easy to point out what's wrong and there are some things right about the U.S. But, I mainly think the Latin Americans tend to have really negative ideas about U.S. Latin American policies in the past, and I have never liked these policies either. In 1954, for example, the people of Guatemala democratically elected a leftist government and there was a coup that kicked it out. I was totally against Reagan's contras and demonstrated against them. That is why they don't particularly like the U.S.
