"Tired of ministries with Gulfstream Jets" - yes I know what you mean. I saw a guy on Christian tv a while back boasting about the new plane he'd just bought.

As for me -

- social libertarian

- devout agnostic, if that's not a contradiction

- suspicious of big government, whether it comes from right or left

- pro free market, mostly. If that makes me a capitalist, so be it.

- generally interested in music, culture, etc

Fincance guy - I'm taking my family to Ireland and Scotland in June. Any tips are welcome.

Nice one. I'd recommend Bunratty Castle in County Clare (south west of Ireland) and the nearby pub "Durty Nelly's". Also the Cork/Kerry coast (south west also) and mountains beautiful.

If you're looking for the real unspoiled Ireland, probably Donegal (North West) is the best, although Mayo/Galway in the West are nice too, although perhaps a little less unspoiled than they used to be. Nearer to Dublin, there are good scenic drives in the Wicklow mountains just south of the city.

Can't give tips on Scotland unfortunately as I've never been there, I've heard the Shetland and Orkney Isles are worth a visit, time permitting.
