Do you mean to say people who aren't US citizens shouldn't be allowed to criticise the laws of the US? What would you say if you were told not to criticise Iraq, for example, because you're not an Iraqi citizen.

And in my opinion, when you treat the citizens of certain countries differently because of their nationality, that is racist. It's racist because it implies that every man of Arab origin is a possible terrorist - how offensive is that to those people? How would we like it if every American citizen or every British citizen were treated as a suspect? Wouldn't you be angry if someone implied that simply because of your nationality, you were suspected of terrorism?
If I implied that you can't criticize I did not mean to. I am saying we have immigration laws, just as your country does I am sure. Are we expected to obey the laws of your country when we are there? Or are they there for show? The uproar is over the fact that we are actually enforcing our laws now. Stop whining about it and obey the laws of the land. I am all for free speech keep on criticizing, after registering properly.

That is just it it is your opinion. Based on definition.....it is not racist. I hate getting into this, but the Websters Dictionary definition does not support your opinion

I would hope that every country puts laws into place to protect their boarders. If we were consistently under attack from people from Britain then, I would say make laws against them too.

I would be willing to submit that American citizens are targets abroad because of their nationality. Wouldn't you?

So countries should not have immigration laws?
It's unrealistic to expect that people who come here obey and follow our laws?
So countries that harbor terrorists, should not be looked at more closely than others?

I am sorry, ten years of terrorism against my country is enough justification. It is not racism, it is self-preservation.

Peace to all.

I don't see how you got that from what I posted

you should enforce your laws
but when you will not enforce those laws on everybody but only on a a small, certaim group of people then those people are going to feel that they are being treated badly

and I tend to agree with them

I fear that someone will eventually chime in that the Webster's dictionary was written by a bunch of racist old white men who financed the political campaigns of Strom Thurmond, Trent Lott and George W. Bush.

Keep in mind that some of the people in this forum are in favor of the "no borders" concept. My conspiracy side still tells me that some of them wish that the Soviets had "won" the Cold War, so that all countries and people would be "the same" or equal or whatever. And we dumb, nasty Ameircans would finally be put in our place.

I am not going to point individuals out; some of them might not even post here anymore. It could easily be deemed a "personal attack" if I did so, even though that would not be my intent. Also, some new rule has allegedly surfaced where we can't bring up information from other threads.

To put it generally, I think people who favor a Marxist economic philosophy would have preferred the Soviet form of socialism over the American-dominated form of capitalism. And there is an entirely different group of people that would prefer countries and borders did not exist (see: John Lennon's "Imagine" lyrics. I am not criticising them for that at all. The dynamic benefit of this very forum is that we can interact with people who have such diverse viewpoints. I was just trying to communicate to dreadsox some of my past observations in this forum.

Happy Non-Christmas Holidays!

I love it (Happy Non-Christmas Holiday).
But you broke this 'rule' of not bring up things from other fourms....

Well i just think if you are going to make accusations like that then you should elabarate on them. If you deem it not in your best intrest them dont bring them up.

Once again, it is not an "accusation," as I am not criticising them for it. And I intentionally phrased it in the general sense to communicate to dreadsox the diversity of philosophies of the members of this forum.

Me posting names of posters who have such views (or who I THINK have such views) and quoting their posts would be like the Red Scare of the early Cold War U.S. and I do not wish to engage in that. I do admit to posting what I posted in a facetious tone, but it was very late at night and I truly meant no harm of it.
