I don't pretend to know how many people are born as each, BUT, doesn't this arguement if taken in reverse undermine the obvious fact that homosexuals are in fact BORN that way and NOT "turned gay" or whatever? Or are you under the assumption that homosexuals are not born homosexual and do have the ability to be socialized into heterosexuality?

I've always felt that homosexuals can be socialised into heterosexuality and that heterosexuals can be socialised into homosexuality.

I do believe that chance (genetic coding), does play a role in determining one's sexuality, but it's not something that is set in stone.

Also, I don't think it's as easy as saying someone is BORN homosexual and heterosexual. It's something that needs to develop through both childhood and puberty, with social and cultural factors also playing a role in how an individual defines their own sexuality.

A child of 6 for instance, is not going to know whether they are gay, blimey, they don't even undertsnad what gay is. And, due to the "normalising" of heterosexuality by contemporary culture, the media, religion and society, children are often persuaded that homosexuality is abnormal.....which is a disgrace...

Sexual orientation is predetermined in Utero. It has to due with the developement of the Hypothalamus. I thought all you younger folks were taught this in your High School Health Classes.

To protest San Diego's Mr. Gay International competition, Tom Crouse (not kidding--just a happy coincidence) a Massachusetts pastor who hosts a Christian radio show organized a "pro-family" event called "Mr. Heterosexual 2006 – A Celebration of God's Design" which was staged last week in Worcester, Mass. Pastor Crouse is deeply disturbed that events focused on heterosexuals are few and far between.

Nope, not kidding.

Tom Crouse was upset that "you never hear of anything for heterosexuals--so I decided that someone should have a Mr. Heterosexual contest." Tom Crouse is also on a personal crusade to take back "Pride" and "Rainbows." Apparently, the true meaning of the rainbow is that God will not flood the earth a second time and the first person to ever see a rainbow was Noah, Mr. Heterosexual 3500 BC.

Similar to Miss America (which Mr. Crouse apparently does not see as a heterosexual event) Mr. Heterosexual has a series of competitions leading up to the crown. Competitions with family values and Christian messages, of course.

The good, no, great news, is that we have an eyewitness report from a gay man who butched it up, scratched his crotch, belched, put on his Christian face and strutted into the assembly.
