Halloween Costume Shuts down Capitol Hill

Well all three major news channels flash "armed intruder on capitol hill" or a similar message... the entire capitol complex was shut down... and it was all over a halloween costume... homeland security at work

A *Halloween costume*?? For heaven's sakes! I just got a "breaking news" from CNN about "an armed intruder on Capitol Hill" or something scary like that. It looks like the joke's on the press.

Just glad it wasn't for real.

I'm relieved too. That scared the out of me. I was afraid someone had been shot or something horrible like that.

from Reuters (2 pages)

Quote:
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Staffers carrying Halloween costumes and a toy gun triggered a major security alert at the U.S. Capitol that prompted police to lock down an office building and search it room by room, police said on Thursday.
Does this mean we can expect a pre-emptive strike on toystores soon?

Today... Thursday October 30th, 2003... we have taken action against the war criminal Geoffrey the Giraffe, in hopes of ending his evil regime.

Never forget 9-11.

You can not be too careful.

Halloween should be banned.

Dwarf terrorists could masquerade as trick-or-treaters

The thing is, they didn't even look at the screen over the x-ray machine and see the "gun" until after the guy had disappeared down the hall.

The halls in Cannon are pretty long, so the police were obviously just really slow.

It's typical, really. Capitol Hill security...
