"true klaus, although IMO Bush changed from a good policy to a bad one"

Bad? Maybe for Saddam or the Taliban.

[Q]"What do you think of General Wesley Clark and would you support him as a presidential candidate," was the question put to him by moderator Dick Henning, assuming that all military men stood in support of each other. General Shelton took a drink of water and Henning said, "I noticed you took a drink on that one!"

"That question makes me wish it were vodka," said Shelton. "I've known Wes for a long time. I will tell you the reason he came out of Europe early had to do with integrity and character issues, things that are very near and dear to my heart. I'm not going to say whether I'm a Republican or a Democrat. I'll just say Wes won't get my vote."[/Q]

Who is General Shelton?
Just the former Commander of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

[Q]Shelton's 38 years in the military included two years in Vietnam and service in the 173rd Airborne Brigade and Green Berets. In addition to having been an adviser to the president and a member of the National Security Council, he has been awarded the Congressional Gold Medal, the Purple Heart and six Distinguished Service Medals. He has been decorated by 15 foreign governments and knighted by Queen Elizabeth.[/Q]

The recent Newsweek article alleges that General Shelton refered to Clark as a "NUT".

The Newsweek article also noted that there were no friends or former workmates from the military at General Clarks announcement that he would be running for President.

Pulling quotes from former associates that didn't get along with you. Wow, that's some hard hitting stuff.

I'm a really nice guy, but if I were running for office, you would bet there be some people with nasty things to say about me.

LOL....Yep

The Secretary of Defense did not attend Clark's retirement? That is unheard of...a 4 Star General's retirement skipped by the Secretary of Defense?

A former associate? His BOSS? Says he is a man with "integrety and character issues". In Public.....LOL

This is a little more than didn't get along.

womanfish,

John McCain and Bob Dole had dozens of friends from the military that came to their announcements to run for president. Clark served 34 years in the military, why did none of his friends and workmates show up for the announcement of his presidential run?

So bottom line who do you want for President?
All I'm getting from you are just newspaper articles that are negative towards Clark, do you hate him that much?
Yea, Clark didn't get along with some people in the miltary, ok, old news, so what?
Do the voters actually care about stuff like that? Doubtful, people see an accomplished individual that has ideas for our country. And that's what people care about the ISSUES.

The way I look at it we are all not going to vote for the same guy for President next year. So what? We never do.

So I heard this accusation against Clark this morning that he "swapped soldiers" with that guy who was with Milosovic. Anyone have any insight into this? It was new to me.

Cheers,
SD

This may be the hat swapping incident. I'll look into it.

LOL--yes, Dread. Just wondering if any new info had come out. It wasn't clear to me from what the Fox News guy said if the hat-swapping thing was what he was referring to.

Cheers,
SD
