Make a resolution for someone else.

Here are the rules:

1. The challenge can be frivolous, serious, humanitarian,
spiritual, intellectual, share a book or author, a piece of music,
a cause.
2. You cannot direct your challenge to a specific
individual FYM participant or a specific subgroup.
3. Any participant can accept any challenge. No one
is required to accept any.
4. Acceptance of challenge is a pledge to honor it.
Report back when you have honored it or if it's
a longterm thing, your progress in honoring it.

Thought it might be interesting to share our interests, share our differences, introduce a new way of thinking, get us away from our pesky personal New Year's resolutions.

Have fun.

Here's my challenge.

Read Jimmy McDonought's biography of Neil Young. "Shakey."

^ Well, I wish you that then. Not accepting that challenge though.

here's some lame ones I thought of

do some volunteer work if you're not already doing so

attend a religious service if you haven't in a long time

apologize to someone you have hurt

perform an act of random kindness for a stranger

read Bill Clinton's My Life-every word, every page

go to a lecture/speech by someone who holds completely opposite views to yours

go on a blind date

go to a Presidential library/museum

listen to a Bruce Springsteen CD of your choosing

all i have to do

to complete your list is

read Bill Clinton's My Life-every word, every page

well good for you deep, get going on that book

also attend a religious service if you never have, and obviously the Bruce one is for someone who doesn't own any of his CD's, would never listen to his music, loathes him, whatever

what do you think of me?

most of my Bruce is on vinyl

i go back to 1975/76 with Bruce at a 3000 seat auditorium
with just the WIESS and BTR lps out

and i need to listen every now and then

do something you're always been afraid to do, or something that involves a phobia you have

take the initiative to get in touch w/ someone you haven't talked to in a while, tell them honestly how you feel about them (someone you like of course, the other way is far too easy)

go to a sporting event that you've never been to

quit smoking for a month if you smoke, don't drink for a month

OK, I accept the challenge. Never been to an NHL game. Think I'll go. I'm considering the phobia thing. But I'm shaking while even thinking about it. Will get back to you on that. Unlike Deep, I haven't done very many of your original list--except the Bruce thing.

I accept the challenge, too.....I'm from Alabama, and believe it or not, I've never been to a football game, or even watched one on TV. That might change soon what with the Bowl games coming up. Wow, a football game.........I'll have an identity crisis.

or, for regular attenders, visit a different house of worship

that's a great one

I've never been to a hockey game either :hmm:

how about - get in touch w/ someone from FYM (someone you've never conversed with privately) and get to know them better privately for at least six months, send them at least one e-mail a week

Hey, you're a rough person to reach, Mrs. S. But I wouldn't consider it a challenge, I'd consider it to be a pleasure to converse privately with you if that's fine with you. Since I can't reach you....I'm at my user name at aol.com.

thank you- that is so nice of you to say :)

I will e-mail you

I wonder why no one else is taking any challenges or posting any :hmm:

Ah, busy. Not interested. A million and one reasons. I didn't expect much. I just like to play.
