I thought I lost my faith once - From around 3 PM one day until I went to bed that night. I woke up and there it was again.

I'm serious about that.

Never lost my faith when my brother died suddenly at the age of 31, leaving behind 2 young children.

Never lost my faith when my 8 hour old son died less than a year later.

Never lost my faith when my pop died.

I'm not saying this to be bragging, because I do not believe my efforts were the reason I kept that faith. God has never given me reason to lose my faith, and in the hard times, he makes his presence known even more.

I never truly believed but when a good friend of mine died in high school in '99, many religious people said, "well... its just god calling one of his angels home." I'm sure this alt-denial got them through it, but it just angered and confused me. There is no reason a young person's life should ever be cut short when it had just started, and for them to believe it was gods will to have her die made me sick. It was at this time in my life (i was 16) that i truly began to associate myself with an "agnostic-ish" point of view. Seeing/ hearing U2 live leads me to believe there is something out there, but what it is, i have no fucking clue.

I don't believe it was "God's will" for my brother to die at the age of 31. God usually allows man's free will to reap its own consequences (in my brother's case, the driver in front of my brother stopping) and nature (disease, natural disasters) to run it course. It's all a part of this fallen world.

Thanks! Here's one for you.

It's all God. Even in my toughest times, he's made himself real to me.

I hate it when people blame God or claim that 'he took' this person, etc.

Like 80's said it's human's free will.

We aren't puppets. Disease, natural disasters, accidents are part of life, they aren't controled by God.

If God controled every aspect by butting in when people shouldn't die, or stopping accidents, or natural disasters then we might as well be puppets. And then what's the point of free will. If God interfered and made this a perfect place it might as well be Heaven.
