very well...seems to me my point is proven. People don't want to believe anyone's life can be wasted in war. Th ye refuse to

it can be on drugs or suicide, but never war.

there are countless domestic reasons why people say
oh, what a waste of a good life'. But war is too sanctimonious to be considered thusly.

and there are times....even if you believe that oath to be nobel...when men and women are sent to their deaths and the fighting has nothing to do with "defending the constitution" (which I think is capable of defending itself without bloodshed)

and as far as obeying what the president tells you to do...there has to be limits to that

when somebody dies for something they feel a conviction for their life is never wasted, at least not to them.

I guess I'm torn. I agree that some of these wars are wrong. The 1954 coup in Guatemala is a good example of a bad war, people were just going to war for a giant fruit company, not the Constitution. Perhaps it's for someone's ego, at least in the view of some. I guess it has to do with the individual who does it, and their family members feelings after the death. Did they think what happened had a "purpose" or not?

You have to follow the "LAWFUL" orders. You are not required to follow unlawful orders.

The President cannot order an invasion of Canada, since he does not have the power to declare war. The House and the Senate would have to approve an operation like that. Unless there is a clear and present danger.

I think this number should actually be around 12 million people. the six million number is for people of one group ethnic group -- that is there were six million Jews exterminated by the Nazis. The remaining six million were of various groups, including (but not limited to) homosexuals, gypsies, people with phsyical and mental disabilities, communists (and other political enemies), and dissenting clergy.
