Convicted Rapist Tells Judge He's Rude

PHOENIX CITY

Convicted rapist Stephen Terry Bolden told a Russell County judge he was being "real rude" during a sentencing hearing, which prompted the judge to add extra days to Bolden's already lengthy sentence.

Circuit Judge George Greene ordered Bolden, 41, to serve an additional five days in prison, a penalty added to the 99 years plus two consecutive life sentences Greene already ordered Bolden to serve.

In September, a jury found Bolden guilty on multiple counts, including first-degree rape.

While reading aloud Bolden's sentences Wednesday, Greene said Bolden was a "menace to society." Bolden laughed and shook his head before shouting "you're real rude" to the judge, the Columbus (Ga.) Ledger- Enquirer reported Thursday.

"You treated your victims like garbage and put them through trial," Greene said to Bolden as officers escorted him from the courtroom. "You're lucky you didn't get the death penalty today."

Bolden also faces charges stemming from 34 warrants, including eight for rape, in Columbus, Ga.

Well at least he's getting a severe punishment. The death penalty would be interesting, but quite frankly, I don't see anything wrong with adding an extra99 days.

Just a drop in the ocean, moment in eternity. The first time I read it, though, it made me laugh in the comical sort of way. But hey, if you do the crime, then you accept the consequences of it whether you acknowledge it or not.

If he keeps up his attitude, I would think there would be a lot worse things waiting for him after his first life sentance, as opposed to 99 days in a jail cell......

With little to lose, hurling an insult seems to fit the mode in which this guy treats other people.

Too bad the judge didn't have another penalty option.

I think it'd be wonderful to bring back stockades.

Stick douchebags like that guy into wooden stocks in the courtyard of the maximum security prison, and have the public pay to go through security to get in there and throw rotten fruit at him or kick him in the balls or something.

99 years plus two life sentences (what, 20 years each?) plus 5 days... that's good... I mean, you're doing okay there. But, making those 150 years of imprisonment both hilariously uncomfortable for him and profitable for the government says Win-Win to me.

I bet you could cover material costs for stock construction in the first hour of visitors, easily. Family and friends of the victim alone at $10 a head would cover lumber and labour, plus you charge them per veggie or bludgeon, it'd be all good.

Oh, and I'm sure this guy was just the very model of politeness while he was raping his victims. Pot, meet kettle.

What a worthless waste of DNA, now becoming a worthless drain on the taxpayers. I rather like ~unforgettableFOXfire~'s idea of the stockade. Pillory him for the entertainment of the masses, and let him feel the humiliation his victims felt.

But then again, this guy is probably so concrete-skulled that anything he's supposed to learn from his punishment will go sailing over his head at Mach 3. Creeps like this usually are.
