Cloned sheep dies

Dolly, the sheep cloned in Scotland six years ago, was put to sleep today after doctors decided they couldn't heal an infection she had. It doesn't seem worth it to clone animals if they're going to have half the diseases on the planet and die when they're babies or very young. How unfortunate. What do you think? Should they breed clones? I don't like it.

As it stands, she had a lung infection--one that typically attacks old sheep. It emphasizes something that is very much a reality: "clones" have the cellular age of the host animal, and, as such, will have a shorter lifespan.

As such, any cloning should only be done on animals and only done in laboratory experiments--no commercial cloning.
