I was travelling home over the mountains this afternoon and the overwhelming feeling of "her" presence hit me again. I didn't think I'd feel that peaceful again to be honest. I now feel very lucky! I feel the kind of connectivity I did as a child.

It's hard for me to say what God is because I don't think I can fathom what he's like. I do think his true form is very humanlike though, as we were created in His image. Going by the Bible it would seem He's male, because Adam (a guy) was created in God's image and Eve was then created as a companion to Adam. Plus there's the whole Father and Son thing between God and Jesus, which would also suggest that He's male.

At the same time I don't really see why God would have the attributes a normal human male would have. I mean, why does he need male genitals? Does he need to reproduce? Urinate? I don't see why. His personality is also so much more perfect than any human male or female could ever be that it would be hard to classify because of His behaviour either.

So yeah,,, I don't know. I'd guess when I get to Heaven and see Him He'll look more like a guy, but I'm not assuming. I'm sure I won't care.

Actually, the original word we now call "Adam" referred to the couple, both Adam AND Eve. The creation story does not depict factual events as they happened; it explains the nature of relationships. God creating Adam and then using him to make Eve is just one interpretation, but it's not how the original text reads at all.

Normal it would be cool in christians actually read their bibles

Genesis 1

26 Then God said, ‘Let us make humankind in our image, according to our likeness; and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the wild animals of the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth.’

27 So God created humankind in his image,
in the image of God he created them;
male and female he created them.

Hey, guess what? We women are created in the image of God too! Shocking concept. Then again, any God that is only male and cares to involve only men in his "important" work is no God worth my time or my worship.

I think these are wonderful and inclusive to everyone. I also think the problem with the "all maleness" angle is it alienates a group of people and alienation from the "One" can't be good. Reunion with him/her is something I believe we all seek deep down.

If everyone can be convinced that God only created males in "his" image, then it's a powerful tool to control and subjegate all those who are "inferior" (i.e anyone not created like "him"). Get the "inferiors" to believe it and you can get them to behave in all sorts of unacceptable ways... e.g My husband's aunt does everything her husband tells her, regardless of how good or helpful it is because he's "superior" in his God-like-ness. Go all the way down that path and rape and slavery are acceptable. Imagine a group saying that not only God is a man, but he's white... imagine the outcry! (although this has probably happened already at some point in history?)

Maybe women are really the God like ones but men just think they're God

I don't see why being created in the image of God would somehow make men better. It only has to do with appearence. And if you think about it men and women aren't that much different looking anyway.

I don't see why some can't understand analogies.

We're a variation without a third kind.
