I remember the days of cigarette advertising. Virginia Slims "You've come a long way baby." Encouraging young women to smoke.
 
I think the Flintstones were first broadcasted as a sitcom in the evenings, geared towards adults.
The characters are in someways, similar to the Honeymooners.

Because I was kid in the 60s I remember these and many more tobacco and alcohol related commercials.
Not to mention many of the non-pc depictions, that would be called sexist or bigoted today.

Social attitudes do change, I would say they evolve for the better.


I rarely, if ever, use the term too p c.
 
Deep, I was too. A young child growing up in the sixties. But, my mom being a divorced working parent, with no child support for three kids. Times were very tough. We didn't own a television. Sometimes, we would be invited to a neighbor's apartment to watch a special broadcast or a weekend at my granny's house.

Instead, I developed a love for books......
