How the hell can you call an election with any kind of credibility with more than 75% of the polls still to close??

It seems ridiculous to me, but they announced a "Conservative Government" 10 minutes ago.

Idiocy. It's probably going to happen, but calling it this early is just stumblefuck dumb.

Wha?!? Majority or minority

They didn't specify but there is an obnoxious "Conservative Government" slapped on across the screen every few minutes.

As I can't stomach it, I'm watching the CBC.

I know! You would think the media would be smarting after the americans called it too early a few years ago!

Quote of the night from Peter Mansbridge (to a reporter who just interviewed the lead singer of The Barenaked Ladies):

"Well, we all sure like Barenaked Ladies"

How does that translate to calling a Conservative win?? I know all of Alberta is Cons...but isn't much of the rest of the country up for grabs??

Dave I'm good now, I just hope I don't see CBC come on with Mansbridge saying we are calling a majority Conservative government.

A part of me almost wants to see Harpur become the monster many fear him to be just to show the Canadian populace how they got played but we'll see in the coming months.

The BQ are getting slaughtered based on these poll results. How many Quebec ridings have reported in , have they mentioned that?

65 Conservatives leading or elected
63 Liberals leading or elected

16 NDP leading or elected

Actually Alberta's 25 will go the Cons, most of BC's will too, blech.

Looks like one pollster will be off:

Ipsos Reid’s seat model projects the Conservatives will take 148-152 seats, the Liberals 62-66 seats, the NDP 34-38 seats, and the Bloc Quebecois 56-60 seats.

According to CTV, Libs have 72....

Too bad it wasn't like 2004 in every aspect! :sigh:

Anyone know anybody considering joining the military, I would tell them to hold up for a few years.

22 NDP leading or elected
1 Independent leading or elected (not a Green, CBC misreported then quickly corrected themselves)
