I don`t know, maybe he can become a born again christian to get out of that adiction.

Yes he makes me so proud to be a British Voter - NOT!

In our press today even his own aides have said his antics on the show are not good.

i cringed watching that the other day. he comes across as this hardline politician and then humiliates and degrades himself on national TV. you have to laugh lol

I'm still traumatised by seeing those photos splashed across the papers (so much for being a member of the Respect Party eh, George?). He's going to get such a slaughtering when he (if he dares) returns to the House of Commons! Great TV.

Look what he is up to now!!

Yeah I think he should be kicked out of politics forever. Nice job on ruining the image of your political party!

He's a disgrace.

Especially as he went and missed that debate thing on that railway thing that's ploughing right through the middle of his constituency because he was on BB. Somehow I don't think Gorgeous George is gonna be re-elected anytime soon...

Hahaha

Better to be a fool than an sycophant to evil

Galloway obviously wants to raise his reputation, to shroud such points as meeting with serial rapist and torturer Uday Hussein. Of course this was all to have his charitable work done, when the investigations into the allegations that the Mariam appeal was but a front for funneling oil money into the coughers of a willing representative in the UK get to the bottom of what was going on I am sure that someone (can also include a newspaper) will be vindicated.

Of course the joke is that the particular SWP set loved him for it, but felt so very betrayed by his BB appearance. Sure do have their priorities straight.

Firstly: Let's see your sources. I want to see your evidence that the SWP set 'loved him' for meeting Uday.

Secondly: Do you love Donald Rumsfeld for meeting Uday's dad?

Evidence would be that the RESPECT Coalition party represents the convergence of both socialist and Islamist anti-war factions, anti-war is one of the principle policy platforms of the party. One would think that claiming to be a personal friend to Tariq Aziz and being on the record congratulating Saddam Hussein for his "courage and indefatigability" would be the very last thing desired for a candidate on such a platform. Hugging up to fascist dictators is generally frowned upon by the left but in the case of Galloway he has been truly embraced by the SWP and ran with the full support. What other conclusions can be drawn? A man who is loathed by such a group would not recieve so much support.

His actions, including his trips to Iraq, the Mariam Appeal and his strident criticism of the war are reasons for him to be supported, taken together (the meeting with Uday in the context of his "charity work") they must only add to his credibility, after all why else would they continue to stand by the man when he has not repudiated his dealings with the regime even while he makes statements about how the Iraqi people really loved Saddam and only his political opponents had it worse off.

Why would I love Rumsfeld for aiding in perpetuating a war that killed so many people, created the conditions for the annexation of Kuwait and led on to a host of problems through the 1990's?

It would seem that such a position was taken with the intention of stability in the region, not allowing any single power to become dominant and ensuring that the energy reserves could flow unimpeded. A balance of terror that would sap two potentially dangerous powers - a position true to cold war realism whereby the end of stability was worth the means.

In retrospect the USA granting Saddam minimal support (other Western powers were involved too but the USSR was the principle backer all along) was an unwise choice, the silence over Anfal was inexcusable and is worthy of nothing but contempt. In acknowledging a measure of guilt over Saddams ongoing murderous reign it was a highly belated but responsible act to see the monster that they aided brought down.

Ok I accept that some SWP members campaigned for Galloway's party. Doesn't necessarily mean that they loved him FOR cosying up to Uday however, or approved (retrospectively or at the time) of such a meeting.
