book about Iraq

I'm putting this in here because it's about Iraq. The author of the Princess Trilogy, Jean Sasson, has a book about Iraq, "Mayada, Daughter of Iraq". It's a true story about a good friend of hers from Iraq who lived under the dictatorship of Saddam. This link is to an excerpt of the book.

The thing that makes Jean Sasson's books so interesting is that she knows a heck of alot about the Middle East, first-hand, because she lived there and knows and respects the people. I recommend her books for anyone, of any political persuasion. They are an excellent way to learn about these people. They are used in some colleges, in Middle Eastern and women's studies.
