I'm reading a book I got for Christmas. It's about Meena, the founder of the Revolutionary Association of the Women of Afghanistan (RAWA). This amazing woman founded this organization when she was a twenty-year old law student and had already been involved in protest politics for years. Ten years later some :censored: killed her. If you want to know more about her and her work go to these sites:

www.rawa.org
www.afghanwomensmission.org

It's enough to make me want to pick up a demonstration sign and hit the next feminist rally.

These are really incredible women. They're inspirational. You read about their lives and think at the very least you should get off of your ass and do something. If they can risk their lives...........

Egads, this story is a gut-wrencher. The fundamentalist :censored: :censored: :censored: killed both Meena and her husband.   They orphaned three children, including twin infants. These are the same people who did 9/11.
God help us.
