Bin Laden offers Europe truce

you could read today that two Arab TV channels have broadcast an audiotape said to be from Osama Bin Laden in which he offers Europe a truce if it "stops attacking Muslims".

Spain, Italy, Britain, Germany and the European Commission have all rejected such a move, with EC President Romano Prodi saying there was "no possibility for negotiation under [a] terrorist threat".

Both Spain and Germany, two countries with governments who do not share all of the U.S. views have already rejected the thing. I don't think anyone wants to cut deals with terrorists.

Bin Laden certainly isn't a dummy. Interesting. Wonder how many
countries will accept his offer.
The more a U.S presence is in Iraq, without a change for better
there, anti-American feelings will rise.
And I don't see it getting any better in Iraq for a long time.

I doubt anybody would agree with a truce with him because as soon as they do, they would be considered to be backing terrorism.
