I'm jealous. You guys get a month-long campaign season. We Americans are going to have had a fg eight month long campaign when all is said and done. It should be more like this, because everything's details except for the election. Can we steal your political system? I would love it.

I had a conversation about this very thing last night, and I truly don't think the differences are that profound. The real election campaign has been preceded by a phoney election campaign which has been on since at least January this year (and, I would contend, since Latham became the Opposition leader last December). It does drag on rather.

Latham better come up with something more than the children overboard real quick, and Howard wants to stop resting on his laurels and his 'faith that Australia will vote for who they know'.

Dont see either happening though.
