Mostly it was a weird time and I was hyper sensitive. A movie with similar themes but set in the academic Northeast was We Don't Live Here Anymore with the ever delicious Mark Ruffalo.

I have never felt so completely STUPID as I did just sitting there, an hour of my life gone by, watching an Andy Warhol movie. It was even the one with Perry King in it, and Perry King is hot.

And then she threatened to kill me if I told anyone.....I wouldn't confess her name in a million years. She's kind of embarrassed about it.

I think, 'whatever floats you boat, honey'. But I was wondering what a gay man might think about it....cute?....weird?....whatever?

did she enjoy man/man porn, or woman/woman porn?

i've seen both, and not straight porn with girl/girl action -- i mean porn for lesbians, by lesbians. it's a much different animal than man-produced porn (whether gay or straight).

i brought a straight friend of mine to Drag Queen Bingo one night. prizes range from dildos to matching tupperware sets to porn. whenever the porn is up for winning, they play it up on the video screen and the three Queens running the show give their own (very hilarious) commentary. this particular program was called "Black Drills and White Holes" ... you can imagine the contents. they played it, added their commentary ("this is every white girl's fantasy! believe me, i know!" and "girls: have more anal sex -- you'll never get pregnant! i've been doing it for years.") as i cringed, next to my straight friend, and felt that keen sense of embarassment one feels when a member of one's "group" is behaving in an embarassing fashion ... like when you see that one bad American tourist in Paris complaining about the toilet paper or something.

my friend, however, was far more savvy. he commented: "it's just like straight porn, only without any vaginas."

lesbian porn, however, seemed to focus much more on the dynamic between the two actors, instead of the dynamic betweent he genitals of the two actors (like in straight/gay man porn). it was all about dominance/submission, but expressed more verbally.

it was strange to me, but an interesting sociological artifact.

What I meant to say was that that movie has similar themes as Closer (two couples behaving badly) but has a lot more heart.

Man/man.

I didn't ask if she had her own collection...

Somehow, I find her preference kind of amusing. But sex is funny anyway--at least when you're not doing it. And even in the throes, some times it's hilarious.

Do you think that people will ever allow you to live in peace and let you have the right to chose who you love?

As fas as porn,I dont fancy porn that has violence in it or children of course! but its what your personal choice is,isnt it.

it will happen within my lifetime. there's no question that the anti-marriage equality forces are rooted in bigotry, and the more that gay people come out and demonstrate that there's really nothing all that scary about being gay, that our loves and lives are as valuable as anyone else's, we'll see the gradual destruction of homophobia -- soon, it will be as uncool to be homophobic as it is now to be racist. soon, Christians will find all the passages about love and tolerance in the Bible instead of clinging to Leviticus to justify what is going to be seen as a totally silly prejudice. soon, we will come to recognize the depth and breadth of gay achievement -- gays are giants in the worlds of arts and academics and one day we will be celebrated for these contributions to human knowledge and the understanding of the human condition. and soon, gay people will have legal recognition of their relationships that will be equal to marriage, if not in name then in legal rights. and, soon, we will soon view sexual orientation as really rather boring, in and of itself.

Well said Iam happy to see the tide turning for the better finally.I also think that its going to take more heterosexual people standing up for their gay family and friends. So we can let the rest of the world know that we dont find different lifestyles from our own horrible or "evil"

I read this letter to the editor in the paper today..says so much in so few and sweet words

Me and my husband

May 22, 2005

MAY 20 marked the one-year anniversary of my marriage. Ironically, the vehement opposition to our union by so many has only strengthened the bond that my husband and I share. We are committed to each other and ready to face any adversity or sorrow together. We are a team.

In our hearts, we are a family, and no one and no law and no amendment can change that. We take our marriage vows very seriously. The sincerity to our bond is enhanced by the struggle for our rights. We laugh together, and we cry together. We are not so different from you.

one day, we'll all look back on the marriage equality movement and everyone will think, "good gosh, just what were those people who wanted to pass an amendment to the *Constitution* so afraid of?"

but then again, the state of Texas needs someone to blame for the shortcomings of their foster system, for having one of the nation's highest divorce rates, what i believe is the nation's highest STD infection rates, and among the highest teenage pregnancy rates.

yes, blame the gays. because if there's someone to hold responsible for a teenage gril getting pregnant, it's a 50 year old couple in San Francisco who like to garden on Sundays and watch foreign films
