Canada sent troops to French Indochina on August 7, 1954, at the time of the partition of Vietnam. Serving as part of the International Control Commission, Canadian troops remained in Indochina/Vietnam for almost nineteen years, departing on July 31, 1973. Canada awards a military medal specifically for service with this group. 1,550 Canadian troops have received it.

Apparently though, most of this was as part of UN forces.

Likewise, apparently they did a lot behind the scenes to help the US, but sending troops to fight side by side, was not one of them.
