Sixty-four years after retiring from professional baseball, George "Mule" Suttles will get his day.

On Sunday in Cooperstown, N.Y., the late Birmingham Black Barons star will be enshrined in the National Baseball Hall of Fame.

"It's so exciting, it's hard for me to describe it," said Merriett Burley, Suttles' 84-year-old niece, who will accept his plaque in Cooperstown. "It brings tears to our eyes to see what he went through
 
It's good to see that MLB is recognizing the contributions that Negro League players made to the game. Cooperstown will be a much better place after this weekend's induction of Suttles and many other Negro Leaguers. :up:
 
It's about Times!!! some of the best players were in the Negro Leauges. Congratulations!!!
