I believe this really is not geared towards stopping terrorists.

It is more geared towards satisfying anti-immigration groups like the "minute men" and a large portion of the GOP’s constituency.

Pass laws served the Afrikaans' agenda very well for many years.

After reading that, I looked at the calendar. It says that it is May 5, 1984

i have no problem with this...while i understand privacy issues and other things, im a law abiding citizen and i have nothing to hide. if they wanna put cameras on each corner in traffic lights and everything? if it would stop crime, than i wouldnt have a problem with it.

I love this excuse. "I'm a law abiding citizen", so what, you're ammune to the system? Doubt it. Last year here in Chicago they tracked down a woman with her child using toll passes and cameras so they could give the baby back to the abusive ex-husband.

I won't even touch your other rant.

Would that be similar to a social security card or will that be replaced with a new national ID card too?

I guess this goes back to my original point. We're already as tracked as we can be. How worse can it get than it already is?

touch my other rant all you want...its your opinion and i have mine...whats wrong with it? that i think immigrants that move to a new country should assmiliate themselves to it and not the other way around? if i was moving to germany, id do everything i could to learn german, not expect everyone to speak english and have hard working citizens taxes go to pay for translators for me....

Can't you see companies bidding to be the ones to issue national cards - cards which contain all of our private, medical, social, and financial information?
Plus, in states like virginia (from what i've heard...if i'm wrong correct me please) already have some sort of radio broadcast chip in driver's licences so that the government can check your location at any given time....while i'm not sure if this is true at the moment in states like virginia I have read about the federal government being interested in this...and that is the scariest thing of all

Amazing that companies that make these types of cards also would be the ones to make a hypothetical national ID card, they really should get Haliburton to do it
