6th Graders Had Sex During Class

I was watching the O'Reilly Factor last night and saw this story. Even with all you hear about kids being sexually active and what can go on in schools, this still shocked me. The stories all seem conflicting-but according to what was on O'Reilly last night (he interviewed two parents, not the parents of the kids involved-and a reporter for the factor interviewed the superintendent) it was intercourse. Obviously even if it wasn't, sex acts of any type shouldn't be going on during class.

http://www.wthr.com/Global/story.asp?S=6224071

"The Superintendent says there are changes on the way at Raymond Park and the district. For starters, the tops of the cubicles will come down so that teachers can see clearly what's going on. Secondly, the district says it will look at improving communications, possibly hiring a media professional and adding sex ed classes.

The two students involved in the sexual act were expelled. The teacher, nor two alleged "look outs" were disciplined.

I think he was most outraged at the superintendent and her possible lying or omission of facts, not sure..but I do have to say I think "outrage" (not so much outrage as concern and thought as to why a situation like that would occur) over this is justified, but at the same time 12 year olds are having sex and it's much more productive to be concerned about why and how we can prevent it. I don't think 12 year olds should be having sex period , or having sex during class. I have to wonder about their parents and what their contribution could possibly be to make these kids think it was ok to do that during a class. I don't want to place blame on them without knowing all the facts, but I just wonder.

Apparently the teacher was going back and forth between two classrooms, and they had a "lookout".

This is what he said, of course he used it for more of his secular progressive ranting..

"Now this incident happened in December and Dr. Hinckley still doesn't know all the details. I guess she has better things to do.

According to the Indianapolis Star, which has done good work on the story, the two students who did have sex have been expelled. And I really feel sorry for those children. Can you imagine what kind of upbringing they have?

And by the way, the national media has largely ignored the story because it reflects poorly on the secular progressive atmosphere that has taken over many school districts.

But clear-thinking Americans know that things are out of control in many schools and not just the poor ones. The Westchester School District is affluent. The Indianapolis one, middle class.

The end game here is this: The superintendents in both cases should be removed immediately. The teacher in the sex case, fired. And the three deceitful girls suspended for two days, period.

And that's The Memo."

(Westchester refers to the Vagina Monologues case, he was hot and bothered about that)

figures.

this is a terrible story, but i don't think that 12 year olds across the country are having sex in classrooms because of secular progressives. it seems like this is quite an isolated incident, but also a perfect opportunity to advance his overall M.O. -- damn those secular progressives! -- and sell more books.

I like to know what the enemy is up to

Seriously, it's healthy to watch shows that conflict with your viewpoints. Why watch only those that you agree with? And I have to channel surf during Idol anyway.

Always good to listen to the enemy. I think O'Reilly is a pompous, self-righteous, paranoid narcissist. However, Hannity and Limbaugh make him sound reasonable. Perspective. Perspective.
I can tolerate him.

This is disturbing whether it happened or not. Nothing remotely near this kind of activity should be going on with 6th graders let alone between anyone on a school campus, near minors....

My son told me things that went on at his high school involving sex acts, drugs and drinking right under the noses of school officials and teachers that are appalling actually. I think MTV and the media has corrupted our youth!

Re: 6th Graders Had Sex During Class

I have two questions:

1) Why was only one teacher doing supervising two classrooms?

and

2) what does the sentence quoted below mean? I suspect it's supposed to read -- Neither the teacher, nor two... but as is it makes no sense.

If the enemy is just a populist then you will find yourself unelectable.

Your discussion leaves out one important question:

Did they at least use a condom?

The super claimed she didn't know if it was protected or unprotected- O'Reilly's reporter asked that question. I have doubts as to whether or not 12 year olds have condoms or would even have any idea how to use them.
