I'm not so sure the GOP doesn't have a shot at the WH.

I saw something last night on msnbc (or somewhere) talking about voter enthusiasm or whatever they called it. Much higher on the GOP side now than the Dems in 08 or 12.

This whole thing seems rather cyclic anyway. It could be that the GOP gets a term or two and then back to the DEMS. I mean, i hope not, but it's possible. Some people wake up while others go to sleep, etc. The country shifts and bends as always.

I guess TRUMP! is still drawing huuuuuge crowds everywhere he goes, right? Not sure but he is still the celebrity candidate. Whether you like the guy or not, people are at least interested. Before TRUMP! i think it was a couple million people watching these debates....with TRUMP! its 20 million.

That said..even as a registered (I) i can now vote in the primary on super tuesday. Im tempted to vote for Bernie.

Also, fuck ted cruz.

at this point, "Ben Carson saying that pyramid is made to store grains" thing totally the past. and pretty tame "crazy thing that candidates have said.

The comparative lack of enthusiasm on the Dem side doesn't bode well for Bernie. He'd be the first to admit that -- he'll only win by drawing people who don't normally vote out to vote like Obama was able to do in '08. Clinton is pretty much the most known quantity in American politics, and it's been assumed that she'll be try nominee for a long time, donuts not like that's going to generate much enthusiasm in a primary.

TRUMP is all about ratings, which is why I think the GOP base is so much more engaged. The networks have been falling all over him for months because he's ratings gold. The Dem race is so boring. All this sober discussion of policy and the making of small distinctions between two older candidates who essentially want almost the same thing but just ....

Oh, sorry. Fell asleep there.

TRUMP! SHOOT ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS WITH BULLETS DIPPED IN PIG'S BLOOD! WATERBOARD CHINA!

I watched about five minutes of a Dem debate a while back before switching to trash reality TV because it was so boring. If I miss a GOP debate I get genuinely annoyed. They're hella entertaining.

How has Ben Carson not dropped out yet?

I seriously wonder about him. I sometimes wonder if he's walking around in some kind of Rx haze or something. Everyday he seems less human, and not in a Trump/Cruz way, more like a robot.

His most recent comments about Obama being raised white are some of the oddest, especially given his attitude that racism is hyperbole.

And this is exactly why politics is such a shitheap.

Some Nevada returns are in
Trump at 42%, can,t be right, no way to get past that 35% ceiling,
Maybe the GOP got the memo and they are going to pile up on Trump now so they can secure the GOP senate

Trump as PUSA is going to be awesome in that 1980s I can't believe a former actor is our president kind of way.

I'll leave. I really really will. I hate when people say that, but.... Fuck, I mean it.

As someone that was around in the 80s, there are similarities
The Reagan (so called) people won't admit it,
But Reagan ran as a populist, the establishment was against him and the left laughed at him until he won.

well if this "republicans blocking supreme court judge nomination" thing really happens, we really are doomed, though.

He literally said "I love the poorly educated" in his victory speech.

Of course he does, it's his base. For once during his campaign he said something honest. Problem is, his base doesn't even realize he called them out. The low information voters now have their king.

Oh please.

Whether you agree with Reagan or not, Reagan actually had ideas, stood for something, and had actual political experience.

Trump is a fraud propped up by an uneducated electorate and a media that's happy to oblige.

Everything about him is phony. He has yet to put forth a single plan. He just talks. His entire status as this big New York real estate developer? It's false. He hasn't been in about 20 years. He's not even in the top 15 on most lists of influential real estate developers in this city.

Most of the buildings with his name on it he didn't even develop. He just leant his name so that those who love fake gold and mahogany will flock. His casinos? Bankrupt.

He's a reality TV star who's toying with what he knows is a disgusting media and an idiotic base. And you're letting him.

Congrats.

Except that...who cares.

Bernie isn't and never was going to be the candidate. The enthusiasm gap on the Dem side, which by the way is significant is 100% Hillary Clinton's problem. We can continue to laugh at the Donald at our own peril. How many times have I said here, we all laughed at Rob Ford too.

I'm out of this shitshow if the Donald is elected and said so nearly a year ago. It's hardly a slam dunk for the guy, but I'm a bit disgusted that the charade has gone on this long.

No problem, I miss the snow anyway.
