VP slot will go to the biggest and most exciting name (with limited baggage) that Clinton can add to her ticket that also agrees with her on policy decisions. O'Malley isn't the former and Sanders isn't the latter.

Seasons 3 through 5 of The Wire, apparently.

Yeah I don't know about that.

Just like Joe Biden with Obama, Hillary's ticket is going to be a low key VP who has otherwise been successful throughout their career. "Exciting" VPs have, in recent history, proven to backfire fast.

Vlad, I don't mean this to be insulting or mean in any way, but: sometimes, I wish you would be a little more open about your socialism on this forum. You tend to shy away from it and hide behind a bit of snark. It doesn't bother me or anything that you don't talk about it much, but I think it would be a valuable addition to FYM if you wanted to.

Can we just fast forward to this and end the campaign bullshit?

I equate "exciting" with tokenism, so a relatively boring candidate who is black and/or latino and/or female is what I'm expecting. All of those would immensely help in the get-out-the-vote drive.

Wow... So anyone who's not white and male is just token?

No. But when Hillary tacks them on to the ticket specifically to energize a certain group then probably.

You know...I can't help but notice that nearly every post you've made in here over the last few weeks has made mention of the race of candidates...

That makes ZERO sense.

And I'm disagreeing.

2000: bringing a conservative, Jewish Joe Lieberman onto Al Gore's ticket was often questioned and probably hurt him.

2008: bringing a female as a token to compete with Obama's ethnicity, who just so happened to be an idiot, was the ultimate demise for John McCain. I say this strictly because Sarah Palin was tokenism, and I think it was disgusting.

Hillary IS the unprecedented portion of her ticket. She's looking to become the first female president. She's going to choose a boring VP candidate that lacks serious diversity, but has experience.

At least. This is my belief. My secondary belief is that she will just choose whoever is actually best for her campaign.
