Today's date - November 4, 2008 - will be a date that high school students will study and memorize for their history tests decades and centuries from now; as far as I'm concerned, there's no doubt about it - today is the day that we as a people will elect the first African-American president in our nation's history!

I am farther away.

I am most upset about missing out on my free vibrator though. At $15, it's worth a hell of a lot more than the $.99-2.99 food giveaways.

God Bless America, indeed.

Just got back - took less than an hour and I got a nifty little "I voted" sticker, too. People who are thinking of staying home should go just for that sticker.

I'm calm yet anxious. I'm going for a run in a little while so that should clear my head some.

PS - I'm missing Tim Russert today already.

Me too. I've been missing him throughout this whole process. I can't even watch Meet The Press anymore.

I don't know. I don't think the Republicans can cheat enough to steal this one.

I'm so excited for my first time voting. I'm about to hop in the shower, and then I'm going. I'm going to be a nervous wreck at work tonight.

The first time is the best.
I vividly remember pushing the vote button on my machine back in 2004 and I felt like I made a difference.... oh.

I was in 11th grade, and we watched Kerry's concession speech in my French class. Then we discussed how the U.S. electorate could be stupid enough to elect Bush again.

My first Presidential election was 1996 - ah, good times. Going to bed at 11 knowing full well who was going to still be President in the morning.

Pulled the lever for Nader, Hawkins for Congress, Yes on a prop for Veterans...

But then also had to vote for a bunch of Dems because there weren't any third party candidates in like five of the local elections.

I don't do Chick-fil-a, they're a big contributor to a lot of right wing causes.

El charro and Dominos are 2 more to avoid.
