My guess is that this girl was not in a sane mental state at the time. Obviously, logic wouldn't tell you to stab a baby. This girl needs help, not to be thrown into a prison for the rest of her life. She will more than likely do some time, but putting her in jail and forgetting about her doesn't educate more people about outlets for help or safe haven laws.

This was in my local paper, the Star Tribune. What the quoted story fails to tell is that the girl came from a troubled home. Her father tried to kill her family when she was young. I'm not trying to defend her actions but just try to give a clearer picture for everyone. Part of the story was left out to you. I'm sure that her father's actions had a lot to do with her own actions.

I just don't understand how a parent could say they didn't know their kid was pregnant. I mean...it said she was overweight....but COME ON!!!!! She'd have to be pretty damn huge if a pregnancy didn't make a difference at all.
