It did stop running ~ permanently

The pause on mine ends after a minute or two and it turns off. Thank God. Requiescat in Pace, fah's DVD player.

It's true A basic no name/generic dvd player starts at about $30.

I think the one that died cost around $500 when we bought it 8 or 9 years ago
