crys It's official: Shovels are a girl's best friend.

When your stupid cat has left a dead teenage rat next to the chair in the living room and The Man, who usually handles these things, is out of town.

The dog is now The Good Animal. She found the rat. She got several dog cookies as her finder's fee.

She almost got one of the blueberry muffins that were getting taken out of the pan. Almost.

There was no hole. I threw the stiff little guy in the trash can. He'll go to the dump tomorrow morning.

PS The muffins are damn near perfect!

At least it wasn't the racoon that made the rat discovery. A teenage rat, no less.

Well, it wasn't small enough for a baby, or large enough for an adult.

I guess.

Oh, and where was the damn cat when the raccoon was wandering around the house?

Excellent question! I'll go ask the furry little shit!

How do you know it just wasn't an undersized adult?

Or an oversized baby?

Now I'm just being stupid

But a teenage rat just made me think of teenage mutant ninja turtles
