New Yorkers don't like Mike!

Mayor Bloomberg got hammered yesterday in a poll that shows his popularity has sunk to an all-time low - with less than a third of New Yorkers approving of his performance.

"This is the worst any mayor has done in nine years - and that's only because we've only been polling for nine years," said Maurice Carroll of Quinnipiac University, which conducted the survey from April 29 through Monday.

"This is in the sub-basement. It's below the cellar."

The survey - taken during the period the mayor was pushing for higher taxes and the smoking ban came into effect - found a mere 32 percent of voters were pleased with his 16-month tenure.

Fifty-six percent were distressed.
