YAY! A fellow Beatlefest goer too! Excuse my excitement. lol. Neil's a sweet guy. I asked him if he was going to play "Urban Spaceman" and he said "Yeah. I wasn't planning to, but I will." He played it, but forgot some of the words, hehe. Still, it was the best!

Yep...been to few Fests. Last one I went to I got my Revolver lp
signed by Klaus Voorman!
Neil is very nice. He was doing his first online chat when I met
him. Someone typed "lol" at him. and he asked what that meant.
He thought it was some osbcure heavy metal band or something.
LOL!!!
When I saw Neil perform, he did "Urban Spaceman" "Joe Public" and some Rutles tunes.
Nope. Never met any of the Pythons. I would love to meet
John Cleeese.

I interviewed Neil Innes for my final radio project for my degree. I was doing a programme about beatles tribute / parody bands, so I interviewed him about the Rutles. He was lovely - we were chatting for over an hour. It was before a show of his and I asked him to play the 'brave sir robin' song from Monty Python and the Holy Grail for me. He gave me a private rendition before the gig, and then played it again in the gig.

Ah, memories

Cool! Neil told the "Urban Spaceman" story about Paul McCartney producing the single at the Fest.
He also added that Paul plays on the song at the very end. He's swinging a rubber tube along with Viv. LOL!
