Yes, they'll continue to pay my salary through Aug 31 and I get to keep my insurance till then as well. They eliminated my department. Which makes no sense. I pity the person(s) that have to take up my work. Every dept has been downsized. Insurance was my main fear/concern since I'm scheduled for knee replacement the 24th.
I've got to have that done, I can hardly walk any distance at all now, the pain is so intense. But I'm not worrried (well maybe just a little) it'll all work out.

Good luck Sue! I agree, downsizing sucks. They recently abolished a position at the library, which, of course means more work for the people left.
