Meggy, I'm sorry you're having a rough go of things right now. I hope you feel better really soon.

I'm not sure how much they'd pay or how it would even work, because I can't go straight to a neurologist, right? And how do you ASK for a CAT scan? That brands me a psycho right there.

no you are not a psycho...just go into your regular doctor and tell him/her your symptoms. Maybe it is as simple as stress related migranes. They would probably refer you to a neurologist and that would be the first thing they would do run a bunch of x rays and scans.

No it doesn't!

As I just said in your LS thread, I had a CAT scan once after cracking my head on a desk when I passed out. I actually had had a couple other head injuries prior (I am accident prone...), so they thought it would be good to do a check and make sure I hadn't hurt anything precious up there. Hehe.

It's not crazy at all...it would be a wise precaution.

As for me...I wouldn't mind if the roof caved on in my right now and crushed me. :|

I asked my doctor about it last time I was there, and she just dismissed it as stess-related. The thing is, I'm not all that stressed now. (Well, I am NOW because of this happening again and because of money, but I wasn't when it started this time).

That's exactly how I feel.

be insistant with your doctor...tell her that you think it may be more than stress. Don't let her dismiss you and treat you like she's somehow more knowledgable because she's a doctor.

case in point, last summer I kept getting kidney infections, the dumbass doctor would give me the same medicine for like 5 days...I would be fine for a week or so then get sick again. I went to the doctor 6 times over the summer for the same thing. Finally, I said that either they need to change the medicine or give me longer dosages. They finally gave me something that actually worked.

i agree with lots of people in your ls thread that the headaches are probably just stress related, but i think you should see a doctor anyway. weird headaches run in my family too - similar to what you describe. my mom and i always take immitrex (sp?) for migraines and it's an amazing drug. expensive though. you should maybe check out a new doctor just to make sure, if for no other reason than your peace of mind.

 at that picture, BC!!!!

Thanks, everone.

I just went to the nurse and got an ice pack and some advil, but she said I should see a neurologist. She said it's probably just stress, but just in case, I should see a specialist because with my insurance, I don't need a referral. I really can't afford it at all now, so I guess I'll hope it doesn't burst or whatever and then wait until I'm in England or something. :slant:
