I freeze up.

well, what happened was all the opposition's rebuttals were coming so quickly and so many of their points were so similar they began to run concurrently, confusing me and putting me out of sync in preparation. I managed to weave it round to my prepared speech after rebuttal, somehow, after a lot of stuttering (didn't help that the opposition were smirking away, but I was doing the same thing when they were speaking so I can't complain). Still, I did get a mention during the post-debate sum up, and in addition to a certificate, our group won 'best written bill'. ok, so essentially the bill was written by one guy in our group (not me) and we wrote our speeches around that, but it still feels nice to win something. nervousness is gone, too, finally, so normal service has resumed!
