Monkey may be responsible for burglaries
Hackney: The Metropolitan Police are looking for a monkey believed to be responsible for a series of thefts.
Last Sunday police were called to the scene of two burglaries at different addresses in Gore Road, Hackney.
A witness claims that they saw a "hairy black chimpanzee" leaving the scene of the crime.
A Scotland Yard spokesman said: "It is believed at this stage that only small items of personal property, a mobile phone and parts of a stereo system were stolen."
