I have been driving a 2000 New Beetle for a while, and I will miss this car a lot. I had to get a new one, because the lease is under my parents' name, and the bank I was dealing with wanted to charge an excessive fee to transfer it to me. Regardless, one of my siblings is 16 going on 17, so they were going to get a new car anyway. It all works out for the best.
