happy MLK day!
But that is not why today is a historical date.
It was 40 years ago today when a man named Jiggy Jones went into a small movie theatre in downtown Chicago. Jiggy Jones was not an actor in the movie, he did not direct it, he had nothing to do with the making of the movie in any way, but his appearence would change how movies would be made and go down in history. The pivotal moment occured near the end of the movie, and had such an effect on the life of Jiggy that he was soon afterwards refered to as 'Jiggy Theatre'--becoming an urban legend! but the stories are true about how people would call the theatre before hand only to see what movie Jiggy was seeing that day. And whether you know it or not, your life has been effected directly or indirectly by the actions of Jiggy on that fatefull day. It was right when the hero walked out on the girl during the last scene of the movie. . . . sitting in the front row, Jiggy got up. . . . and shouted at the screen. . ."Oh no you didn't, oh no you didn't just do that!!! you better go back and get that girl!" . . . and hence Jiggy became the first annoying movie play by play man of all time!! In future shows Jiggy was known to have said; "you better not open that door! don't do it! don't open. . . I told you not to open that door!!" and " he missed! he missed! he didn't hit the brother!" and many other memerable phrases that are still in use in theatres everywhere this very day!! so today we salute "Jiggy theatre Jones" a real american hero, with out you we would never feel okay getting 'jiggy' at the movies and brothers on cell phones would not have a screen to scream at. we thank you!!
