IO: Spelling out "lol" when smilies are available

I don't like it. How much longer does it take to type out " " instead of "lol"? And really, it prevents you from looking like a myspace-frequenting kindergartener.

There are two exceptions:

1. If there are no smilies available

and

2. If you're typing out ROLFOLOL!!!OLL instead of for humor purposes.

seriously, I like using the smilies unless I find something really funny then LOL has more impact imo because I rarely use it...

If something strikes me as funny, I go with Which, I might add, I enunciate as El Mao, like "Mao" Tse Tung.
