I'm young, single, have friends, and got off work at 6 p.m. I have a free Saturday night. Do I get ready for a hot date? Get together with friends for a night on the town? Fire up the grill, invite some people over and watch some basketball?

Nope. The second I was off the clock, all I thought to myself was, "Thank God; now I can go home, sit on my ass and watch figure skating." And that's what I've done. It's pretty sad, really. Does anyone else do this with their free time? I'm so tired of school and work that I really don't have the energy to do anything useful when I do have some time to myself -- I chill out, watch the History Channel, surf the 'net, and generally hole up in my room. I feel like I should pick up an abusive boyfriend or a nasty drug habit or something, because I'm in danger of being the oldest 24 year-old on the planet.

Homebodies of the world, unite! Or at least let me know I'm not alone here.

Tonight is the "biggest party of the year" at school and I'm surfing interference, making playlists, and studying.

Your not alone and if thats what you want to do then do it and enjoy your free time. When you become a wife and a mom if you plan to that free time comes in spurts so enjoy it now while you can.

(I'm not saying that marraige and motherhood are bad cause they're really good.)

Wooo! Chillin' with the parents!

And must say, it's refreshing to hear someone say that they actually, y'know, like their parents and enjoy hanging out with them. Sometimes I felt like I was the only person who did (and I never went through the "surly teenager" phase, either, so I've always gotten along with them.)

i beat everyone on this forum for boringness. it's not even nerdiness (which is the new black). i'm just dull. painfully boring. i'll list it all one day. but i need to gear myself for it first.

Last night, Friday, I spent from 9.30-10.30 on the phone with my dad - and he had me in hysterics. Tonight I had friends over, and 3 of them left for the bar at 11.30, leaving me & P to our own devices till now. We even called her husband so he wasn't worried - he sadly assured us he wasn't worried!!.

You are not alone :)

I usually go to my mom's place on the weekend, where I watch TV and go on the internets. that's pretty much all i do. I think I win for most boring.

though I did just go to a concert in Chicago with friends...sometimes I actually do things  im going to go to parties and be dumb in college because i've spent my entire high school avoiding it. I've never gotten drunk or high or fucked a random guy or anything. that shit doesnt interest me at all. but i don't want to go through college having done nothing "exciting"

But yeah, to sum it up, I'm pretty boring, and I get along fabulously with my parents. I'm living with my mom for the first year of college! Laughable i know, but it saves me money

Welcome to my world :reject: :hi5:

Last night I crawled in bed at around 7:30-8:00pm-ish, and I could have passed out for a while. I woke up disoriented at about 8:30pm, not knowing if I ate dinner or what day it was, and too tired to get out of bed. I'm on medication, so hubby went & brought it to me, and I laid back down and watched more TV. Just chilled

Warn us first, we need to prepare for the excitement.....

I use my dogs as an excuse to get out going anywhere.

"I can't go, I have to go home and let my dogs out."

"Well, my dogs have been alone all day, so they are lonely and will want company."

"My dogs need to eat dinner, so I better go home."

I mean, yeah, those things are true...but I like having them as excuses.

I rarely go out. I go home from work and put on pajamas. I just like being at home with my boyfriend and dogs. I used to have really bad social anxiety where I hated leaving the house for anything. I'm not as bad anymore, but I still just like being home. I actually went to a PartyLite party one of my co-workers was hosting last week, and I think jaws dropped when I walked in. They were shocked I actually came. It was fun, but I spent way too much on candles. :crack:

Nothing laughable about that -- a lot of students do that (myself included  ).

Beat this folks. Sometimes on a Sunday morning my Dad will call me to tell me that he & Mum are going to Big W. Probably kind of like Walmart? I cannot get there fast enough. We spend all day wandering around the shops and generally having a ball. Is this a strange thing for a 29 year old married girl to do?:nerd:

I've temporarily taken up residence at the library.

10 - 5 on Saturday at the library. Rest of the evening working on an essay.
Got up at 12 on Sunday and was in the library from 1 until 9 working on the essay.
Had a nap, worked some more, had a snooze and was at the library for 8.30 this morning to work on the essay.

I'm just exhausted now so I'll probably have a nap and do some work for a presentation I have tomorrow. 7.30 go to dance class with the sister. Come home, feel like death, read over more stuff for the presentation. Fall asleep, get up and go to library for 8.30 in the morning again.

3 more essay titles are coming out this Wednesday so I'm sure the Easter break will be a riot.

Hell no!!! We do that! We love it. Some Saturdays we go on a family outing to what we call 'A Big Dub trip' The husband and I think this is thrilling because chances are we will end up with at least one new (and cheap) dvd and countless other 'things'. It's such a great shop for 'stuff'. And they have the self serve that still gives me a kick, even though something always goes wrong each time we pay, like the scale won't recognise the item is in the 'checking area' and so on.

BEG I know you're dying to know how boring I am (because you have no life like that) so here goes:
-I have 3 piles of 'to read' books, each about 2 feet tall, which is about 6 feet of books in total I am slowly getting through.
-I read statistics and information on other countries very often.
-I read about other countries justice systems when ever I get time. I read more than is necessary for uni (studying criminology and justice), and I enjoy it.
-I spend Sunday afternoons cooking roasts for dinner (because we are old fashioned and boring).
-We got those books 1001 Albums you must own before you die and 1001 Movies you must see before you die and I plan to get the book one too, and we are seriously contemplating comparing what we have to what is in the list, and seeing what we'd like of what is missing.
-We go to house auctions out of sheer rubber-neck'ery. We like to and guess who the buyer will end up being from the crowd gathered.
-We are both obssessed with the weather. All of it. Rain, clouds, the heat, the humidity. I even got chatting to a man walking past who enquired why I was taking photos of the storm which was rolling in a few weeks ago who's daughter is a meteorologist. Meteorology is like porn to me.

Can I stop now? I don't want to keep going.

Self serve - same, when I go through without some kind of cock up I always feel like I cheated the system or "got away with it"

Physical Geography for me - rock formations in particular

Not the only sad case :applaud:

A couple weeks back, I finished up with finals - 4 exams in 5 days and most of my classmates went out to the bars to drink as much as they could. What did I do? I went home ordered pizza and sat on the couch all night enjoying the downtime with my lady friend. I don't feel like I missed out on anything. It would've been perfect had Man vs. Wild been on the Discovery Channel, but Dirty Jobs wasn't a bad show to watch either.

Ah, a fellow Criminal Justice (or its equivalent, at least) major! I'm guessing you're in the UK somewhere? Americans don't say "uni," but the few Brits I know do.

I'm the most boring SOB on this site, trust me.

I read all the time. I waste a ton of disposable income on books. Yet, it does not make me any smarter than I was before, so there's that. Going to Barnes and Noble, for me, is like a kid visiting Disney World.

I listen to music incessantly as well. We all obviously like music around here, but I listen a lot, and I cannot claim that it makes me all that interesting of a person.

I have an Xbox 360 that I use fairly frequently.

Unless I go out with a very specific group of friends to this dive bar we like, or I'm at a ball game, most Friday nights find me at home watching a DVD then catching up on Tivo'd stuff. I own like 250+ DVDs. Woo-hoo, crazy times!

Said Tivo'd stuff includes shows like "Gordon Ramsey's F Word", "Deadliest Catch (new season coming soon)", "No Reservations with Anthony Bourdain", "Passport to Europe with Samantha Brown" "Modern Marvels" and any # of items from the National Geographic Channel, Discovery, Travel Channel, History Channel, etc.

I follow sports very closely, and watch a decent amount of sports, and play ball when I can. Not very exciting stuff, listening to me talk about why such and such is a better shortstop than so and so. Plus, I play Fantasy Baseball, Fantasy Football and what amounts to a glorified version of Dungeons & Dragons but for sports. Hard to explain, but, you must love sports and be a LARGE dork.

When I travel, I go to museums and parks and historical sites as opposed to finding places to go party.

I can quote any # of popular and not so popular movies, which gets filed under "useless" when addressing one's skills. My boringness allows me to recall these lines. My dorkiness allows me to regurgitate them.

On New Year's Eve, what I like to do is play board games with friends. That's not all that compelling.

I don't drink or smoke or do drugs. Yawn.

I think that's enough for now. I re-read my list and am astounded I actually have friends. Wow.

Australia  close, though! My major is still undecided. Not sure whether to do the law and justice major, or corrections. My x major is another black hole of thought. I have mere weeks to finalise it, too. I'm bloody organised! I'm doing another degree right after this one, so my degree will be bachelor of criminology and criminal justice, and bachelor (i think of arts? lol) in terrorism and s.e asian politics. see, boring as batshit is me.
:hyper:

righto, everyone, wake up. more of my list is as follows:
-i am hopelessly 'addicted' (?) to jack the ripper. i religiously read casebook.com, i buy books, docos, research papers, anything at all on the murders. i am also about to embark with some fellow nutters on an incredibly futile project which involves compiling a database (of statistics  ) of the 500,000 odd thousand folk living in victorian era east london during 1888.
-nationmaster.com was once my homepage. :reject:
-i can quote you hours of the young ones dialogue
-i can play platform games for hours. i think i've lost days in total of my life and cannot really account for even a second of it, as a result. this is made more strange by me being a 30 year old married mother.
-i build houses in my spare time on the computer with a programme which has some architectural relevance but simulates what the finished house would look like
-i have a plant named jesus which i talk to. and no, it doesn't talk back
-i have the crime act of 1900 bookmarked.
-i check court lists (lists of hearings and who is appearing and before which judge) every now and then. for no real reason.
-i get more excited about afl season now than i did about christmas when i was a kid

:sigh:

:uhoh: Did someone say Dungeons & Dragons? :reject: although I haven't played it in years because I don't have any friends to play it with!'

I also randomly quote lines from movies and TV (especially Airplane!, Monty Python, Seinfeld and Simpsons).

I spend New Years at home...

I don't drink or do drugs... I used to smoke but I gave that up and I don't eat meat...

Party time.... :|
