I dont know if this has been posted yet so I'm sorry if i'm repeating old news:

I was in a local HMV today and I saw a poster advertising the release of the ZOOTV Sydney DVD on September 27.

So thats good news!

Should have asked a guy working there what the deal is. I find this very hard to believe as we haven't heard anything about it.

yay!!!! that is great news. Just bill Chizip for my copy.

Thanks Chizzer!

I have access to the Universal Music Group's U.S. database of information, and there is no U2 listed on the schedule, at least nothing thru the month of September (release dates on the site go thru October 4). I do see this listed from a different company as coming, tentatively 10/4/05:

U2 - Music Box:

"This DVD presents the true and complete story of U2. No music is included. From their humble beginings in Ireland to their meteoric rise to one of the biggest bands in the world, this DVD features rare and archival footage courtesy of numerous private collectors around the world."

im ready for the laughing gas.

and i might juts be forced to give some to the person in HMV who might have made this up

Was there not a news story going around last year that there would be a triple DVD pack released which had Zoo TV, Popmart and Red Rocks soon?

Not sure where this would fit into the release plan though with the Vertigo DVD due out, we're assuming, before the end of the year. Although I guess the record company would be keen to get the old videos out on DVD as it would be a relatively low-cost exercise.

As a fan, I'd love to see a proper, multi-angle feature-heavy release of Zoo TV as the source material must be there to make it special.

Ok all I have an update:

I went back to the HMV in downtown Montreal today and I asked someone there about the sign. I pointed it out to him and he said: " If the sign is there then that means we're getting it"

I told him I didnt see it listed on the HMV.ca website so I asked him to check their computers. He looked and found nothing about a ZooTV DVD.

BUT he said that its common to have an sign advertising a new release and nothing in the computer. He said it just means they haven't gotten around to ordering it yet. But he reiterated again that if the sign is there then they're getting it.

Again, for those of you in Montreal, the HMV is on St.Catherine and Peel. The sign is on the bottom floor almost directly across from where the U2 section is. There is a listening booth against a wall(with the Arcade Fire as one of the selections) and directly acroos it plainly states: U2 ZooTV Live from Syndney DVD out September 27.

I guess it's just wait and see I guess!

Yeah and this fall's release was thought to be the Chicago DVD.

I hope this is true!! I've never seen the ZooTV Sydney VHS becuase I don't really want to buy it on VHS since they're getting outdated but if it doesn't come out on DVD soon I just might have to buy the VHS!! I WANT TO SEE IT SO BADLY!
But regarding this...wasn't there an article from New Zealand news a while ago saying that a box set including ZooTV would be coming out this September?
